PayPal Fee Structure (2024–2025)
PayPal charges sellers a transaction fee when they receive payments for goods and services. The fee structure depends on the payment type, whether it's domestic or international, and your account type.
| Payment Type | Rate | Fixed Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic (Goods & Services) | 3.49% | $0.49 |
| International | 4.99% | $0.49 |
| QR Code Transactions | 1.90% | $0.10 |
| Friends & Family (Domestic) | 0% | $0.00 |
Rates shown are for standard PayPal accounts. Business and enterprise accounts may have negotiated rates.
How to Charge the Right Amount
If you want to receive exactly $100 after PayPal's domestic fee (3.49% + $0.49), you need to charge more than $100. The formula is:
Amount to Charge = (Desired Amount + $0.49) / (1 - 0.0349)
For $100: ($100 + $0.49) / 0.9651 = $104.11. PayPal's fee on $104.11 would be $4.12, leaving you with ~$99.99.
